The Modern Gadfly

In tribute to the style of Voltaire’s teachings:

            A modern gadfly must exemplify characteristics of the great Socrates: challenge beliefs, contemplate deeply, and wholly assess situations under the purest of lights.  It is integral to the assumption of such a title that one is engaged in the world and, therefore, insightful.  It is also important to note that, due to interrelated world affairs, humans across the globe offer perspective to modern situations. Further, the far reach of technology is the most efficient form of involvement and expression. A modern gadfly, in today’s interrelated, technological world, must have also have influence in the media as well as in countless nations. There is only one source that fits these requirements completely: Fox News.

            Fox News is a well-known company that presents unbiased information that is representative of all ethnicities, religions, and cultures.  Through it’s many technological resources, Fox News impacts millions every day. 

            Recent Fox quotes, related to the most significant news stories of the recent years, demonstrate the company’s analysis of situations and thoughtful determination of the proper “next step”.  Concerning Trayvon Martin’s death, Fox news reporters discussed the fault in the tragic situation, one reporter offering the fresh, enlightening perspective that Martin’s hoodie is “just as much responsible” for the boy’s death as the convicted George Zimmerman.  Such insight plants in developing minds the idea that humans should watch what they wear not solely for popularity, but also for safety. Similarly, Bob Beckel shared his ideas for the future when he claimed on Fox “I would not have another mosque built in this country until we got it worked out who was not a terrorist,” here referring to terrorism carried out by peoples who were Islamic.

            However, Fox News is most special because it clearly shares with the lost and forlorn the secrets of society.  “Santa just IS white,” Magyn Kelly revealed.  A Fox news report further relayed that the President is targeting younger audiences, who may have been the most surprised by Kelly’s truth, through animated movies.  The President must be a malicious man, one would infer, based on such nefarious and manipulative actions.  Fox News defends their Democratic Commander-in-Chief, who is solely victimized by his mind, “There’s a real victim mentality here, and it really explains the President’s whole mentality and many of his policies.” In this statement rests forgiveness, understanding, and support. More importantly, Fox’s dialogue here portrays scientific facts that allow American citizens to make educated decisions about their society.

            The modern gadfly is innovative and sophisticated; just and consistent; “fair and balanced"! Luckily, Fox News is available at any time and in any place. Meditate, run, write, contemplate, then tune in today and learn what the fox does say.
